THE DANCING SCHOOL has been a venue of quality dance education for over 30 years. Our attractive facility is conveniently located in North Reading at the corner of Park Street and Winter Street with easy access from either street. In addition to two large and fully mirrored dance studios, our facility has a viewing waiting room and a convenient in house pro-shop that offers discounted prices on dancewear and dance shoes. The yearly program runs from September to May with additional eight week programs through out the year for younger dancers. The Annual Concert is held in May at the beautiful and new Reading High School auditorium and is an opportunity that our students look forward to each year. The dance concert has a deserved fine reputation for being entertaining and creative as well as well organized. Parents and faculty keep in contact with period newsletters, parent peek weeks as well as through our website. Tuition is collected in six monthly payments that covers all costs for the year, including costumes with no extra surprise costs. To encourage dancing families, we offer family discounts like no other. At The Dancing School dance is taught as personal training and inspiration in grace, coordination, health, confidence, and art education. We try to preserve and cultivate the student's natural creativity in class and make learning enjoyable while teaching technique. When teaching children it is important to us that their first experience with dancing, an art form, be positive and lasting. We take direct action to foster creativity in our classes. We encourage our students to learn, think, recall, create and solve problems. We are firm by gentle while we maintain a true attitude towards professionalism. My Bachelor of Arts Degree in a double major Dance and Drama was awarded from the Boston Conservatory of Music, my Masters Degree in Theater from Emerson College. Although I have many performing professional credits, usually students want to know about my experience as a Rockette at the famous Radio City Music Hall! The road to opening The Dancing School came when I left New York to teach at The University of Massachusetts- Amherst and then at Boston University and my two alma maters.
